WebQuiz creates a database in the folder [wwwroot]\cgi-bin\WebQuiz\ScorePro.
This database is used to calculate the results table.
-
You may delete all data by deleting all the files you find in the directory
[wwwroot]\cgi-bin\WebQuiz\ScorePro (do not delete the subdirectories). When
WebQuiz receives the next request, it will create a new database.
-
If you want to delete some data sets:
- Copy QuizPro.exe into the directory
[wwwroot]\cgi-bin\WebQuiz. When you start QuizPro there, you may select the menu
item "Options/Memory" to view the data sets and delete some of them.
OR
-
Open the URL http://www.localhost/cgi-bin/WebQuiz/WebQuiz.exe/editdatabase.
This is a password protected page. Here, you may delete records from the
database according age and completeness (quiz finished/unfinished).
The default password is "admin". To change it, open WebQuiz.ini with a simple text editor,
e.g. TxtEdit (you will find it on my web site)
and modify line 1: "admin" to insert your private password.
WebQuiz.ini will be created in your folder [wwwroot]\cgi-bin\WebQuiz the first time you call
/admin
-
For the performance of WebQuiz, the database operations are critical.
To speed them up, you may set "LOCAL SHARE" to "False" in your Borland Database Engine
Administrators (BDE Administrator) as shown below.
QuizPro needs "LOCAL SHARE" to be set to "True", to enable a reliable database
operation for multiple users working on a LAN using the same database.
Therefore, Quizpro will reset "LOCAL SHARE" to "True" each time you select the
menu item "Options/Network settings".
Consider using the ISAPI-version of
WebQuiz, if you experience an overload on your webserver with the CGI-version.
